Litigation Paralegal The candidate will support the litigation team. Provide substantive procedural and legal work in support of Litigation attorneys including research, evaluation, organization, analysis and communication of legal facts and concepts. Serve as key internal resource for numerous in-house and outside attorneys. Assist and coordinate civil discovery and document production efforts in litigation. Conduct document reviews (including medical records, employment records, business records, etc.). Conduct legal research of state and federal laws, regulations, and policies; prepare legal memoranda summarizing research. Prepare, coordinate, and calendar heavy litigation dockets for litigation matters. Provide deposition support. Apply legal principles and judgment to the identification, analysis, and solution of legal issues. Prepare, review and revise complex legal documents as directed by attorneys. Respond to subpoenas and court orders for litigation. Maintain electronic database and files for pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and other documents. Work overtime with little or no notice as needed. Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed. Bachelor degree preferred as well as interest in the legal field. 2+ years of paralegal experience preferred; litigation experience preferred. Law firm experience preferred. Associate’s degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies required. Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required. Experience utilizing document management systems and e-discovery tools strongly preferred; Experience with Symantec, Enterprise Vault discovery tool, Corporation Service Company (CSC) document management system and IncSpot / Record Center preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Working knowledge of fraud, waste and abuse laws (anti-kickback statute, false claims act) preferred.
