ProfileSenior Paralegal, Retail Products and Intellectual Property The candidate, under the general supervision of an attorney or manager, applies advanced knowledge of complex legal concepts and processes to assist in the more efficient operation of the law department by undertaking a variety of paraprofessional duties. Researches complex legal issues and relevant topics relating to business operations. Investigates facts and applicable law and searches pertinent sources. Administers complex legal department activities. Organizes and maintains department databases and files on a variety of legal subjects. Drafts complex legal documents, communications and reports under general attorney supervision. Resolves more complex legal questions through the application of applicable law to pertinent facts. May coach or mentor less experienced paraprofessionals.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have an Associate's degree or higher with paralegal certificate and 3+ years of paralegal experience in a corporate law department or law firm OR High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of paralegal experience with a law firm or corporate legal department. Undergraduate degree and a Paralegal certificate from an ABA-certified paralegal program is preferred. Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations required. Experience processing information (such as compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data) needed. Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives) is essential. Should have intermediate level skill in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience using legal research tools; such as LexisNexis or Westlaw is an asset.
