Mid-level Investment Management Paralegal The candidate participates as a team member and assist attorneys, paralegals and other members of the firm in the Investment Management practice group primarily with support of other practice groups as necessary. Works directly with certain key Investment Management clients, handling individual and ongoing projects. Assists with managing, filing, proofreading and drafting all documents and correspondence related to mutual funds and/or unit investment trusts. Assists with the drafting of various regulatory and organizational fund documents such as registration statements, shareholder reports, and annual disclosure updates by creating prospectus or statement of additional information shells, risk matrices, or ancillary documents to accompany filings (facing sheets, Part Cs, etc.). Assists with the filing of various regulatory and organizational fund documents, including review of printer proofs in a systematic way to include comparison against source documents, checks for comment incorporation, and review of table of contents, series/class identifiers, and section references. Assists with coordinating activities of client team participants and managing work flow to ensure deadlines are met. May serve as primary liaison with outside clients. Assists with fund launches and mergers and drafts initial formation documents and certificates based on previous models. Conducts research using the EDGAR database via the sec.gov general search engine and alternative search programs. Participates in the drafting, editing and preparation of board meeting agendas, minutes and compilation of board materials. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by other corporate paralegals and other individuals within the corporate management structure. Should have a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, either at a law firm, management company or something equivalent.
