Fiduciary Paralegal Duties: Support Fiduciary Counsel, all partner trustees, and trust client services team by assisting with fiduciary and corporate matters relating to the administration of trusts and other fiduciary accounts. Work with Fiduciary Counsel who will delegate assignments and supervise work. Support members of the trust client services team on complex matters relating to the administration of in-house trusts. Report to the Legal Administration Supervisor. Availability for overtime is required. Review and complete subscription agreements for investment funds to be held in trusts. Draft loan documents incidental to borrowing of trust assets. Assist with coordination of tax information of complex investments held in trust. Assist partner trustees and trust client services team with tracking information relating to trusts, with matters relating to the administration of complex assets, and on relationships where PCG is providing family office services. Draft documents necessary to re-title complex assets, such as private equity interests and hedge funds, into the names of trusts. Research and prepare oral and written analysis of issues related to trusts of which partners serve as trustees. Assist with formation, administration and annual reporting of entities held in trust. Assist Fiduciary Counsel on other assignments related to the administration of trusts of which partners serve as trustees. Comply with department and firm administrative procedures and policies. Responsible for billing a minimum of 1500 hours of trust-related work.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Law degree or advanced degree and 5+ years professional experience as a corporate paralegal or attorney. Expertise with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to develop other technological know-how. Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate to attorneys, staff and clients. Must be a proactive, self-starter who understands the details within a much larger context. Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities and to follow up and follow through. Able to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritize appropriately and delegate to resources available. Must be able to anticipate problems and issues and exercise independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action in solving problems while knowing when and to whom to escalate issues. Must possess excellent organizational skills and consistently deliver high quality work product. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as a team player, in a fast-paced environment. Able to work effectively in a multi-office environment and culturally and educationally diverse environment. Must take ownership of deliverables and be accountable. Demonstrates strong drafting skills, proofreading, and attention to detail. Able to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm’s internal and personnel affairs and client information. Understands the ethics of the position including ethical rules in regards to confidentiality, billing and client representation and advocacy. Collaborates effectively and professionally with clients and all levels of personnel, including attorneys, coworkers and administrators. Owns professional development by seeking out feedback and learning new skills.
