ProfileSenior Paralegal Duties: Provides legal services and resolves legal matters for assigned responsibilities or clients. Supports the business in the achievement of business objectives by communicating advice of the Legal Department and managing legal risks to the corporation. Will be responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Identifies moderately complex legal issues related to assigned matter; proposes alternative solutions. Performs substantive legal work that requires knowledge of legal concepts including analysis, drafting, negotiating and consulting. Resolves routine and moderately complex to complex legal matters in area of responsibility with minimal supervision. Performs independent analysis of unique problems and proposes solutions to a more experienced paralegal or attorney. Assists more experienced paralegals and/or attorneys in resolving complex legal issues on projects involving multiple disciplines within the Legal Division and/or multiple functional areas or divisions within company.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree and / or relevant legal education (paralegal certificate). Generally, 4-7 years of relevant experience. Must possess solid knowledge of company's business supported and knowledge of the broader business impact. Ability to keep abreast of changes in laws that affect client areas; represent company's externally to customers, suppliers, competitors, opposing counsel or government agencies; resolves legal issues using negotiation skills and legal experience involving more complex matters. Ability to represent legal division internally to clients; help select and/or directs the work of outside counsel, outside paralegals, contractors and vendors; defines project objectives and manages project. Ability to advise legal department managers of critical project developments in a timely manner; execute core job responsibilities in a timely manner; assigned matters generally have a significant impact on business activities and operations; and interact across all levels of management. Demonstrate strong leadership competencies, considered as a potential successor to the Paralegal Supervisor.
