Payroll Supervisor Finance & Accounting The candidate will assist the Payroll Manager with processing all aspects of the U.S. payrolls and supervision of the payroll staff. Additional responsibilities include: Reconciling all payroll/clearing payables section of the balance sheet with the general ledger group and becoming the general ledger coding expert for all payroll related accounts; entering employee tax, direct deposit and deduction changes into the payroll system; verifying new employee social security numbers through the Social Security Administration’s on-line application; creating and distributing year-end W-2’s via the Firm’s payroll company; communicating with supervisors, administration, and the Finance & Accounting Department regarding payroll issues; preparing firm-wide monthly reports of overtime meals/transportation for Accounts Payable department to post; and responding to payroll related inquiries and performing research as required.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year college degree or equivalent experience required. 3+ years of experience with payroll work in multiple states. 2+ years of supervisory experience. Law firm or other professional services organization experience preferred. Knowledge of sophisticated payroll databases and structures, proficiency in Microsoft applications. Knowledge of Ultipro and/or Ceridian payroll software a plus. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, with a sense of urgency, while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organization and communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information. Strong client services skills. Flexibility to work additional hours, as needed.
