Legal Staff
IT Intern The Intern will perform a variety of entry-level professional administrative staff work, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility once on-the-job training has been received in the Information Services Department. Will rotate between the different practice areas to gain experience and participate in various technical department areas including: Project Management, Application and Technology Solutions, Network Technology and IT Security and Technology Support. Ensure project documentation is current on assigned projects including: schedules, charters communication plans and risk plans. Manage and oversee contractor and vendor time reporting, billing and expenses. Create and edit assorted project documentation and presentations. Administer PMIS (training provided). Analyze, organize and document new and existing application systems. Develop scripts to manage, deploy and integrate application systems. Assist in providing technical Assistance and training to lawyers and staff. Network Technology and IT Security: Responsible for handling all date and voice communication with the Firm. Secure the Firm’s critical data. Handle the data center infrastructure including servers, network, firewall and storage systems. Provide support and guidance to users of the Firm’s computer, network and telephone systems. Troubleshoot and resolve problems for all Firm-supported software and hardware. Monitor the videoconference and audio visual elements for the Firm, including: Telepresence, HD Personal Video conferencing, LCD projectors, webinars, presentations, video recording and media production.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must be a current college Junior or Senior with a degree towards Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Math. Ability to communicate effectively with lawyers, professional staff and peers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office. Hands on experience with NET, Java, Powershell, JavaScript or a similar object-oriented programming language highly desired. Server experience a plus. Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a team with a positive attitude. Ability to carry out certain tasks with minimal supervision after instruction has been provided. High level of attention to detail and meticulous follow through. Ability to ask questions when needed. Any previous internship or works experience a plus.
