Marketing & Business Development Manager Duties: Working with individual lawyers and the broader M&BD team, to develop programs and targeting initiatives to build relationships with new and existing clients, including identifying cross-selling opportunities for our offices in Mexico and Brazil. Helps create and foster a business development culture within the offices in the region which embraces a strategic, proactive, and client-centric approach in assisting lawyers with identifying, actively perusing new business opportunities. Helping to identify and implement sector or practice group programs that support local client development efforts. As needed and in conjunction with the Pitch team and relevant M&BD team members, helping to create strategy for and managing responses to RFP's, customized pitches, and business development presentations. Regularly following-up with and encouraging partners in support of their business development efforts. Following practice, industry, and regional trends to identify business opportunities relevant to growth initiatives. Creating and implementing integrated campaigns locally and in the region to help raise our internal and external profile and awareness among our key target audience. Developing and executing cross-practice, cross sector office-specific events including building contact lists of relevant clients and tailoring invitations and programs for local audiences. In coordination with the Communications team and the broader M&BD teams and the OMPs, evaluating, negotiating and implementing participation in local and regional sponsorship opportunities and award nominations. Assisting in the development of marketing and business development plans and budgets for the offices in Mexico and Brazil, including all sponsorships, client development, and events. Together with M&BD leadership as well as the broader team, provides business development coaching and occasional formal training to associates and partners. Creating office specific materials for both internal and external business development purposes. Managing and contributing to wider M&BD projects as required. All members of the firm are expected to participate in our Global Citizenship program; and Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A BA or BS in marketing, communications, or related preferred. 7+ years of marketing and business development experience in the professional services or legal industry environment strongly preferred. Significant knowledge and understanding of the Latin America business and legal market, especially within the key markets of Mexico and Brazil. Spanish language fluency, oral with written, required. Portuguese a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment. Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
