Profile

Client Accounting Supervisor Duties: Direct supervision of cash application and billing support teams. Ensure accurate and timely application of cash receipts. Manage non-client business support including time entry and time card maintenance, unbilled and accounts receivable write offs, corporate office invoice imaging and storage, cost back-up retrieval, firm use and personnel account creation and maintenance, and billing helpline support.Review and authorize client refund requests and personal account expense transfers Research and resolve outstanding bank reconciliation items posted by client accounting staff. Respond to billing and collection inquiries from Partners, secretaries and other staff in a timely matter. Ensure items are resolved completed and accurately. Work with vendors and information technology staff on the automation of additional types of expenses Maintain the Firm’s master list of cost codes for charge back; create cost codes and retire inactive cost codes in the Firm’s accounting system as needed Train staff within and outside our department on processes and procedures. Responsible for the direction, supervision, and development of staff in a fast paced environment. Complete staff evaluations annually. Work closely with the manager and other supervisors to assess staffing requirements in the client accounting department. Prepare documentation of processes and procedures. Provide excellent client service to our attorneys, secretaries, billing specialists, clients and other Firm personnel. Determine, propose and implement process improvements for operational efficiency. Provide recommendations to management. Must be able to design meaningful and useful analysis of business problems and potential solutions. Other duties as required.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. 5 years previous accounting or financial experience. 1-2 years of previous supervisory experience. Preferred: Previous law firm experience. Implementation of or exposure to various client billing agreements. Knowledge of Elite, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office. Strong organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Good judgment. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Able to work harmoniously and effectively with others. Able to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion. Able to work under pressure. Able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities. A self-starter who desires to show ownership and commitment to the job. Strong customer service skills.
