Profile

Senior Financial and Reporting Analyst Duties: Create and ensure accuracy of often complex standard and ad-hoc financial reports including month-end analyses and schedules. Prepare financial documentation and presentations. Interpret reporting requirements and compile data to satisfy reporting needs. Manage the development and testing of new standard and ad hoc reports. Perform rate, variance, margin, compensation and other analyses. Research and analyze financial data and variances. Assist in the preparation of budgets for staff and attorney departments. Create and maintain statistical reports. Prepare responses to firm survey requests. Assist in RFP response preparation and financial review of lateral hiring activity. Perform other related duties and assignments as requested.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting and CPA and/or MBA preferred or equivalent work experience. 7+ years prior experience in financial analyst, query and reporting role, preferably in a law firm or professional services organization. An experienced financial analyst possessing strong finance/accounting/systems skills. Ability to identify, create, and produce financial reports essential for day-to-day and long term strategic operations. Understanding of Rippe, LMS, Elite, Aderant or equivalent financial software required. Working knowledge of SEQUEL Viewpoint or similar query/reporting software required. Understanding of Data warehouse concepts and experience required. Experience using Cognos TM1 or other similar budgeting/forecasting tools preferred. SQL query writing skills required and SQL server and OLAP experience preferred. Strong writing and oral communication skills, effective listening, presentation and facilitation skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the firm. Self-starter who is highly motivated requiring minimal supervision. Able to multi-task and handle unstructured environment. Strong attention to detail and good business judgment. Ability to deal effectively with change in a fast paced environment. Must be well organized, work independently, comprehend business requirements and proactively identify systems and reporting capabilities to address those requirements. Must be results-oriented, dependable, adhere to established time commitments and demonstrate strong customer service attributes and the ability to deliver results. Ability to question and strong analytical skills.
