Intellectual Property Technology Specialist The candidate will be involved in a wide variety of work, including patent prosecution, client counseling, opinions, patent litigation and IP transactional matters. Will work with inventors to prepare patent applications and replies to communications from patent offices during the patent application process; conduct scientific journal and patent literature searching on public databases; prepare letters of instruction to foreign counsel for foreign counterparts to US patent applications; assist lawyers in the preparation of patentability, validity, freedom to operate and infringement opinions; assist lawyers in reviewing file histories of patents; assist with analyses of issues that arise in patent litigation; and participate in special projects and other duties assigned. Begin law school within one year of joining the firm. Attend an ABA accredited law school in its evening division, obtain a law degree in four years, and take and pass the USPTO patent examination to become registered as a patent agent. Must have a Ph.D. in organic or medicinal chemistry or in a related discipline. Should have strong academic credentials and/or prior work experience.
