Profile

Human Resources Director Duties: Responsible for developing and executing human resources strategy and operations in support of strategic direction. Leads a department that is responsible for human resources policy development and implementation, employee relations, performance management, employee compensation, benefit design and administration, orientation programs, recruitment and retention programs, recommends policies, and monitors human resources activities affecting all operations of the firm. Develop and implement human resources strategies designed to attract, develop, and retain high quality individuals to the firm. Serve as a business partner to firm management to support and advance the firm’s strategic direction. Manage, develop, and coach the human resources team to ensure the effectiveness and credibility of the human resources function. Coach and advise office managers and contact partners to help them achieve their people strategy, and to navigate sensitive employee relation issues. Partner with the supervising attorneys to manage the annual performance review process for associates. Manage the annual review process for all administrative staff. Direct the recruitment, placement and training programs, and ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity regulations. Determine firm’s organizational needs and ensures implementation of the recruitment program to obtain high quality employees at minimal cost. Provide general supervision and discipline of staff. Make recommendations, ensure implementation, and supervise administration of all benefit programs and services, including medical, disability and life insurance plans, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, salary continuation, vacation, and leaves of absence.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. 8-10 years of progressive Human Resources Management experience in a fast-paced, challenging professional services environment. Law firm experience preferred. Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and leading human resource teams. Strong client service focus with the ability to establish credibility and build strong relationships at all levels though periods of significant change. Highly detail-oriented with strong management skills. Requires a high level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and excellent judgement in navigating sensitive issues.
