Legal Administrative Assistant Duties: Supporting attorneys of the firm through a broad range of administrative activities. Performs a variety of duties to include document processing and administrative support to all practice groups. Under supervision, create, transcribe, revise, proofread and maintain a variety of legal documents including, charts, subpoenas, pleadings, agreements, contracts, deeds, articles of incorporation, exhibits, letters, memos, spreadsheets, presentations, tables of contents and tables of authorities, etc. You will also organize and manage e-Rooms and document closing binders as needed for various practice groups.as well as coordinate meeting, send invitations, book conference rooms, order food/beverage services, etc. Other responsibilities include a broad range of administrative, document production, organizational, research and client support/contact duties for timekeepers. Will exercise judgment and delegate administrative tasks as needed to the appropriate firm resources, e.g., Business Center, VPC, other Legal Secretaries and/or Project Team Assistants. Even when delegating, maintain responsibility for and track all activities/tasks/projects to successful completion.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: High school diploma. Some college preferred. 2 years of clerical experience in a law firm or professional services organization. Strong computer skills including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with staff and timekeepers. Must be team-oriented and have ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. Must be an accurate proofreader and have strong attention to detail. Has ability to work independently and is able to take direction well.
