Legal Secretary The candidate will: Organize and coordinate attorney schedules, meetings, and calendars. Assist attorneys with case organization and docketing for ongoing legal cases and issues. Research legal issues, prepare documents and pleadings and provide administrative support. Create, maintain, and track client files and Firm records. File pleadings and other court related documents; ensure timely delivery of documents. Coordinate depositions and legislative and administrative filings. Assist with preparing witnesses, preparing affidavits and subpoenas. Draft letters, e-mails, and engage in high level communication with other staff and attorneys. Assist with all client development initiatives including proposal writing and client engagement. Assist with all trouble shooting of day to day IT and computer issues experienced by attorneys and work with IT vendor on resolutions. Assist at least one, out of state attorney via our remote network. Requirements: Associates degree in paralegal studies, Prefer 4 year paralegal degree and Paralegal certificate. In depth understanding of legal terms and rules; Familiar with federal and state court proceedings, rules, and procedures;. Familiar with legal writings and citation; on-line legal research. Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and listening skills; Superior interpersonal skills; Proven record of maintaining a positive attitude and confidentiality. Organized; Detailed; Flexible; Accurate; Reliable and dependable. Must have superior IT (e-discovery) and other related technical skills. Ability and willingness to do whatever it takes to meet tight and unexpected deadlines. Expert computer skills including Word, Excel (create and maintain complex spreadsheets), PowerPoint, and Electronic Court Filing (ECF) systems. Deadline: August 20, 2017
