Legal Secretary - Litigation Responsibilities: Creating and revising/formatting pleadings and day-to-day correspondence. Managing workflow including processing incoming mail, documents and correspondence. Interacting with clients ensuring that superior service is provided. Calendaring for attorney. Assist in the billing process of clients.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: 5+ years of legal secretary experience in the litigation area of law. Experience in billing clients and working with proformas (bills). An experienced legal secretary with exceptional skills, including excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills. Previous experience with assisting attorneys with trial preparation, document management and organization of trial binders. Must have experience with electronic filing in state and federal courts. Knowledge of court procedures and rules in Indiana. Advanced skills in MS Word; knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint helpful. Exceptional electronic and traditional file management skills. Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment. Proficient with drafting of routine letters and other documents. Exemplary organization and attention to detail skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Innovative thinking - must be able to anticipate needs to successfully manage demands. Proofreading a document reaches client. The team player we seek must possess exceptional MS Word (65 wpm), intermediate level MS Excel skills and intermediate PowerPoint skills as well as exceptional grammar, spelling, proofreading and attention to detail skills. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and become an integral part of client service. Ability to work well individually or in a team environment. Maintaining a positive, can-do attitude is of equal importance to our environment. Professionalism and flexibility are a must.
