Legal Administrative Assistant / Paralegal The candidate would attend to enterprise patent and trademark portfolios and work with employees and law firm resources to acquire and maintain patent and registered trademark rights; day-to-day handling of workflows for all facets of enterprise patent and trademark processes; assist with trademark portfolio in-house under senior paralegal and attorney supervision including preparation and filing of USPTO documents including applications, extension requests, statements of use, declarations of use and incontestability, renewal applications, and other matters; assist with quarterly patent maintenance/annuity payments; support enterprise global anti-counterfeiting activities; support due diligence for enterprise M&A activity; support all facets of IP litigation and as-needed support of non-IP litigation; support non-IP legal issues as assigned by group attorneys and other group paralegals; administrative duties as assigned including filing, preparing correspondence, budgeting, financial tracking, travel and expense reports, monthly reporting, etc.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor’s degree or combination of equivalent education and work experience; experience with intellectual property docketing systems such as CPI; 1-2 years of intellectual property paralegal experience, or strong experience as an Administrative Assistant in a legal environment; good interpersonal skills; can-do, positive approach to daily tasks; strong written and oral communication skills; skill with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products; ability to work and self-start under general supervision; ability to handle numerous matters simultaneously under tight deadlines and pressure; good organizational skills with attention to deadlines and details; experience with USPTO and foreign IP databases; experience directing legal counsel in foreign countries
