Paralegal Duties: Independently performs a variety of complex legal and administrative duties, many of which are confidential in nature, with a high degree of skill and accuracy. Works both independently and under supervision to draft legal documents, transactional documents, legal memorandum, bylaws, corporate agendas and minutes, contracts, reports, resolutions, spreadsheets, organizational charts and litigation pleadings with little or no supervision.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires Paralegal Certificate or the equivalent under Michigan law. Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years' experience working in a major law firm and/or corporate legal department. Experience in corporate records and transactions required. High-level working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Experience with legal research, filing and processing legal documents. Must possess strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, initiative and desire to learn. Demonstrates willingness to promote team concepts. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent ability to concurrently prioritize and direct multiple activities and projects. Ability to interact positively with co-workers, clients, outside counsel, court personnel and government employees. Ability to identify problems and solve promptly within realm of authority. Ability to work well under pressure. Must be detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines consistently. Must be able to work independent of direct supervision, take initiative, set priorities and have sufficient skills to allow for successful problem solving and completion of projects. Willingness to learn. Commitment to quality and continuous improvement of skills and work product. Congenial work personality, stable work history. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
