Business Law Paralegal II The candidate will be responsible for providing quality service to clients. Primary responsibilities include: coordination and preparation of title and survey matters, real estate documents and instruments for acquisitions, loans, foreclosures and work-outs; preparing and electronically filing UCC forms; electronically recording documents with Simplifile; analyzing title insurance, survey and real estate documentation; agency administration for Florida Title Agency (FTA) operations, producing title commitments, policies, endorsements and computing, collecting and remitting agent and underwriter premiums; maintaining fictitious name corporate filing requirements for FTA with Florida Department of State; state-wide coordination of renewing FTA liability coverage separate from firm coverage; coordinating document execution; coordinating and attending real estate closings; maintaining electronic client files; and administration of all real estate post-closing matters. Should preferably have intermediate/advanced knowledge of commercial real estate and title insurance practice and procedure; ability to recognize and evaluate relevant facts, legal concepts and title underwriting issues; superior comprehension and communications skills, including advanced writing skills conveying clear and concise information, in both paper and electronic format for effective communication with attorneys, staff and clients and for persuasive communication with title insurance underwriters; creative problem solving-skills to resolve title underwriting obstacles and survey deficiencies; extensive analytical skills, strong mathematical skills, and advanced organizational skills and highly detail oriented; advanced computer, software and online research skills, including experience with industry-standard and specialized software, programs and equipment; ability to work independently and as part of partner/associate/paralegal/assistant team; aptitude to recognize and avoid ethical violations; fundamental understanding of Rules Governing the Florida Bar to avoid unlicensed practice of law, the giving of legal advice and situations possibly inducing other violations. Requirements include: specialized or technical training beyond high school, or a paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program, and 3+ years of commercial loan, title insurance and commercial real estate closing experience.
