Profile

Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties: Will be responsible for providing administrative support for the Legal Staff of the Corporate Legal Department. Will perform a wide variety of secretarial, administrative support, and legal research duties. Also help ensure the proper functioning of the department and enhances the productivity and effectiveness of a busy, professional environment. Prepare legal letters, documents and exhibits under direction of Corporate Counsel. Conduct legal and internet research. General office work. Maintain proper legal files; photocopy; process mail; prepare electronic documents/filings; answer multiple line phone system with good phone etiquette, transferring calls, and taking and deliver messages quickly and accurate. Monitor incoming and outgoing faxes and accurately route documents to department staff. Handle Inter-company mail. Use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; Use of Prolaw. Maintain calendars and scheduling. Data entry and updating, order supplies, coordinate departmental documentation for management approval and signatures, perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or senior staff, and researching legal and other issues.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements : Paralegal Certificate or other similar Technical Degree. Past paralegal or legal secretary experience would be preferred. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with many departments on all levels. Ability to work under pressure of deadlines. Ability to manage multiple assignments and adjust to changing priorities. Ability to organize an office. Accuracy and attention to detail is critical. Assist in projects as required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong Proof-reading skills. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Willingness to learn. Experience utilizing multi-line phone skills. Airborne, FedEx and UPS shipping tasks. Must be able to use calculator, PC, typewriter, basic office equipment, keyboarding skills. Strong knowledge of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
