Legal Assistant Duties: Reports to Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, will provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship. Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on many matters pertaining to the legal office. Serve as a liaison to the board of directors and senior management team; organize and coordinate executive outreach and external relations efforts; and oversee special projects. Prepare reports, memos, letters, and other confidential documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software. Administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Answer phone calls and direct calls to appropriate parties or take messages. Conduct research, compile data, and prepare papers for consideration and presentation by executives, committees and boards of directors. Manage incoming correspondence. Read and analyze incoming memos, submissions, and reports to determine their significance and plan their distribution. Perform general office duties, such as ordering supplies, maintaining records. File and retrieve corporate documents, records, and reports. Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email. Coordinate executive travel arrangements, track and account for executive travel/business expenses. Plan and coordinate logistics for on and off-site meetings, events & conference calls including both internal and external participants.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education or experience. Paralegal certification preferred. Knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques and legal terminology required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills; must be able to work with individuals at all levels both internally and externally. Able to manage multiple projects and tasks and meet tight deadlines. Strong organization, planning, and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work independently.
