Legal Secretary The candidate will assist with negotiating and finalizing deviations from routine form agreements, such as nondisclosure agreements. Will administer a document-management database; review contracts, nondisclosure agreements and other documents for completeness; tag and file documents for storage. Organize and track patent, trademark, and other filings in coordination with outside counsel. Assist in-house counsel, contract administrators, and senior staff with document management, review, and communications; track outstanding requests and relay communications, serving as a 'force multiplier' for in-house counsel. Serve as backup contract administrator, interfacing with program managers, business development staff, and outside customers when needed. Manage company registrations nationwide, such as secretary of state filings, business licenses, annual registrations, and corporate filings. Maintain repository of standard form agreements and other company forms.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. Work in an engineering-centered environment and/or Bachelors' degree in engineering or other hard sciences technical field desired. Must have 4 years of experience in a major law firm or corporate legal department. Should preferably have 8 years of experience in a major law firm or corporate legal department. Experience with contract law issues is required. Experience with patent and trademark filings, U.S. government contracting, space-launch licensing, and/or satellite-payload contracting is preferred. Experience with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel is needed. Experience with document-management software, workflow software, and/or MS Access database software is desired. Excellent English-language communication skills, both written and spoken are essential.
