Paralegal The candidate will be an integral part of a unit that includes five attorneys and an administrative assistant and will focus on employment and labor law issues. Perform a broad range of tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to working with employment law group, employee relations and other human resources staff to gather information and documents in defense of employment litigation and in response to charges/complaints filed with various EEO and other administrative agencies, and managing databases, documents and administrative functions in support of litigation and other functions within the employment law group. Within the legal department and under attorney direction, provides analytical and support services. Assists attorneys with substantive and procedural legal work. Assists in preparing, reviewing and analyzing legal documents. Analyzes issues and conducts legal research.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree with 0-1 year of professional experience and/or successful completion of a formal development program. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience may be considered. 2+ years of recent experience as an employment law paralegal or equivalent litigation and human resources experience. Experience gathering information and documentation to defend and respond to employment litigation and EEO administrative agency filings. Superior oral and written communication and organization skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Work, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency with database and document management.
