Legal Secretary The candidate will perform a broad range of secretarial, administrative and clerical support for multiple attorneys. Under attorney supervision, create, transcribe, revise, proofread and maintain a variety of litigation documents. Send such documents for review, approval and distribution; coordinate with Word Processing as appropriate to manage workload and document revisions. Maintain calendars and other time tables for matters to include scheduling/coordinating meetings and making travel arrangements for assigned lawyers. Manage partners’ daily time entry. File documents electronically with various Courts, retrieve court dockets, cases and other materials from various online databases, and track status of cases. Ensure attorneys are informed of status. Answer telephones, take messages, sort mail, review, and file client correspondence, maintain attorney contact lists, client files, and prepare and track expense reports and check requests. Other duties as required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have High school diploma. Must have 2+ years of experience working as a Litigation Legal Secretary. Should have intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong research and coordination skills are required. Excellent proofreading and grammar skills are essential. Should have demonstrated effectiveness in understanding and resolving difficult situations while maintaining composure.
