Legal Content Operations is a dynamic group that produces and maintains various legal data collections and products that form the backbone of bloomberglaw and legal content on the Bloomberg Professional. The Citator team acquires, maintains, updates, and analyzes primary and secondary source materials, as well as manages the case law, legislative and regulatory databases where all of the legal opinions, statutes, and rules are stored. Content Operations also supports the industry-leading Bloomberg News, financial data and company and market information by providing value-added legal analysis. Our main clients include attorneys, law firms, government, law librarians, paralegals, judges and law students. This team which is responsible for building and managing our data products consists of attorneys, both seasoned and recent graduates, as well as data analysts who have a background in the legal industry or relevant data experience. Creative and energetic individuals who are able to solve problems on a large scale while still maintaining attention to detail thrive on our team. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will contribute to developing, maintaining and marketing BLAW, working within the group responsible for building and maintaining Citator, the legal research tool associated with the Bloomberg Law Product. Citator allows for review of composite analysis and to see how the case is discussed in court opinions and other legal documents that reference cases by citation. The role involves focused research, requiring analysis of court cases, statutes and rules. Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Bar Admission required. 0-3 years of experience working in the legal field. Journal, clerkship, and project management experience a plus. Working knowledge of state and federal court structure, citation formats, and strong analytical skills. Willingness to commit to lengthy research queries as a part of daily responsibilities. Excellent legal research and analytical skills. Familiarity with online legal research tools. "Outside the box" thinker, comfortable sharing new ideas. Ability to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment. Organized and flexible approach. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to travel.
