Profile

Legal Recruiting and Professional Development Manager The candidate should have strong track record of leading legal recruiting and lawyer professional development programs. The role is responsible for the development and management of the legal department’s recruiting, onboarding and professional development programs. Report to the G&A Recruiting Lead with a strong matrix report to the Director of Legal Operations. Identify legal team staffing needs based on discussions with legal teams and successfully translate those needs into job descriptions, creative staffing models, and candidate search strategies. Identify and recruit candidates by traditional and creative sourcing to generate and manage a consistent candidate pool. Review resumes and credentials for appropriate skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements. Conduct phone and other screening processes to qualify candidates. Partner with hiring managers, provide guidance, and regularly communicate the status of recruiting activities. Facilitate and foster effective communication between company and outside legal recruiting and staffing agencies. Manage all communication with legal department candidates, including negotiating offers, ensuring acceptance and successful onboarding. Provide excellent service to hiring managers and a great experience to candidates. Provide a smooth transition for new hires as they join the Legal department. Provide hiring managers with onboarding services. Develop programs to provide regular feedback to counsel and legal staff, aligned with individual and legal department professional development and strategic goals. Collaborate with law firms and other education providers to provide regular training opportunities for the legal team. Develop and maintain counsel and legal team competencies to support their continued growth and skills.

Qualification and Experience

A BS/BA degree is required; Juris Doctor from an accredited law school preferred. Should have 6 years of work experience in a law firm or legal department, including the direct support of senior leadership. Must possess a strong working knowledge of the key principles of continuing education, needs assessment, training development, and training delivery. Should have abity to establish and maintain successful relationships with legal teams, departments, recruiting agencies, and legal process outsourcing companies. Must have 6 years of experience in full lifecycle of legal recruiting, onboarding and professional development; in-house experience is highly desired. Must have excellent internet research and sourcing skills. Must have ability to demonstrate sound judgment and to respect, protect, and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
