Legal Internship, Summer 2016 The legal interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience by working closely with the Program staff. Interns will learn about all aspects of the Program’s work, including litigation, public education, and advocacy, and will gain experience by: conducting legal research and factual investigation; drafting of memoranda, complaints, discovery materials, and briefs; responding to affiliates, private attorneys, governmental entities, and others who seek the help; and screening potential cases and researching or drafting materials for public education. Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills required. The initiative to see projects through to completion needed. Should have the ability to work with a wide range of people. Must have a strong interest and commitment to civil rights and civil liberties issues. The internship typically requires a 10 week full-time commitment.
