Litigation - Whistleblower - CFTC
Graduate Legal Intern, Office of General Counsel, Litigation Group Duties: Assist the Litigation Group in the Office of General Counsel in responding to lawsuits, subpoenas, and providing legal advice on litigation, ethics, bankruptcy, and other issues to all departments. Under the direct supervision of the Vice President and Chief of Litigation of the Office of General Counsel, the Legal Intern will engage in the following activities: Assist OGC attorneys in dealing with lawsuits against its employees. Perform legal research on questions presented to OGC litigation attorneys. Assist in responding to subpoenas directed to staff for documents and testimony. Participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Second or third-year law student. Experience with law enforcement or regulatory organizations and working knowledge of the federal securities laws, particularly the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, is a plus but not required. Strong work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor. Effective time management and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work with others to meet deadlines. Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately. Period: May 22, 2017 through August 11, 2017
