Public Advocacy/Legal Intern The candidate will be responsible for assisting company’s Public Advocacy team with the promotion of IT education and workforce development. Our Public Advocacy/Legal intern will work on a variety of topics related to the advancement of IT small and medium sized businesses such as cybersecurity, data protection, patent reform, net neutrality, consumer privacy, tax reform, and obtaining access to unlicensed wireless spectrum. Duties: Working with the Public Advocacy team to explore new ways to engage on the issues in the advocacy portfolio. Legal research and writing on various aspects of the advocacy portfolio. Working with members to develop advocacy positions and explore new advocacy opportunities. Attending and reporting on hearings, meetings, and other events around town.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must be a 1L or 2L with an interest in policy work. Interest in law related to emerging technologies is preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should have proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be available to work 30-40 hours/week beginning in May/June through August.
