Intern – Legal, Summer Duties: The Intern within the Legal Department’s Compliance Group will work towards development and implementation of global ethics and compliance function, and associated programs to ensure it is in legal compliance with requirements and at par with industry best practice. The Intern within the Department’s Contract Management Group will work towards managing sales contracts and leveraging contract information to drive processes that impact order processing, facilitate cross-functional decision making, and minimize compliance risks. The Intern within the Legal Department’s Product group will will work towards assisting supply chain, product operations and engineering organizations responsible for the development of products. The Intern will work closely with the Intellectual Property Counsel, and will help provide legal services that support efforts to develop patent portfolio, develop offensive / defensive IP strategies, manage IP transactional projects, and ensure the continued operational IP excellence.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Currently enrolled in an accredited JD program (second year or higher). A good team member who is willing to learn with a strong desire to grow in and expand their knowledge. Willingness to use the skills that are being gained in law school to build a strong foundation for a Legal related career. A passion for evangelizing integrity, ethics, and compliance. Cross-cultural sensitivity and intellect. Strong negotiation skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients throughout firm as well as legal department colleagues worldwide. Duration: 3 months
