LSAT Teacher Part-time LSAT Instructor positions are ideal for full-time and part-time Law students, or for students in related fields such as History, Philosophy, or Political Sciences. Classes meet on local campuses--commonly in the evenings and on weekends during the school year, and during the day over the summer months. The position is flexible: teachers can usually take on as much or as little teaching as they like. Depending on a prospect’s location, may also be able to teach at more than one location over the course of the year. Prior teaching experience is a plus. Each course is roughly 8-12 hours per week, not counting additional prep time for first-time teachers. The teaching rate starts between $22-30 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and official LSAT score. Tutoring starts at $3 above the teaching rate, and teachers are eligible for annual raises based on teaching performance. Additional prepararion time spent outside of classroom hours is compensated at the provincial minimum wage. (New teachers should expect to spend anywhere from 30-40 hours of prep time toward the first course. Prep time should reduce significantly with each additional course). Training is provided. Travel expenses for trainees attending training will be covered. Must attend one of these training options (both weekends) above to complete the full program. The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a half-day standardized exam that tests students on their mastery of acquired reading and verbal reasoning skills for the purpose of assessing applicants for Canadian and American law schools. The test is administered four times a year. Applicants will be given the opportunity to choose between two 2015 LSAT Training schedules, both options require two weekends of commitment: Training Option 2: Friday, April 10 – Sunday, April 12 Note: Summer 2015 LSAT term, with courses starting at the beginning of May. Training is a two-weekend (Friday-Sunday) commitment.
