Legal Intern Duties: The Intern will support team including commercial transactions, marketing and consumer protection, product and feature reviews, corporate governance, litigation, privacy and data protection for Intuit and its subsidiaries worldwide. Understanding various company contract forms and agreements; Reviewing and managing changes to certain standard terms and conditions. Review requests for, and work on, non-disclosure agreements between the Company and other individuals or companies. Review contract and marketing collateral review requests; conduct interviews, review and participate in negotiations on NDAs, as appropriate, and partner with contracts managers and legal team. Work with contract managers and legal team, as applicable, to conduct review of marketing collateral for publication on web, press releases, ads, etc., to ensure that company guidelines are followed. Review contracts and contract management procedures, including technology transactions, EULAs, Terms of Service, software licensing inbound and outbound; sales and marketing agreements, services and marketing agreements, and version and retention policy controls. Research and drafting on specific contracts related issues, policies, practices, as requested. Learn intake mechanism for work assignments and how to save work files. Special project assistance on legal tools and innovation projects. Work under the supervision of an in-house attorney on projects that will include working alone or with others including teams with lawyers and contracts manager professionals as well as business staff. Support for the Legal Dept., and to provide the intern with practical, hands-on, in-house legal experience.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Law student with 2+ years of work experience in a company (may be unrelated to the practice of law) to serve as an intern in our Legal Dept. Second year or equivalent law school level is preferred. Strong academic credentials. Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills. Prior experience preferred. Prior experience or familiarity with reviewing contracts, software licensing and SaaS agreements is a plus.
