Litigation - Whistleblower - CFTC
Law Clerk I The candidate will participates in the substantative development of cases and works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or a Project Supervisor. Will performs complex legal research for the trial staff and assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memorandum of law, etc. reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation. Drafting reports, memorandum, and correspondence and organizing material and preparing synopses is required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study. Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw is required. Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging and familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources. Must have a current DOJ MBI clearance. Financial background with securities and/or Residential Mortgage Backed Securities experience and Document review experience performing in-depth, substantive review and analysis of financial data is needed.
