Summer Law Student Internship The interns are placed in the Major Offender bureau. Interns conduct legal research and write memoranda; respond to defense motions; prepare trial exhibits; attend witness interviews; observe trials; and deal with post-trial issues, such as restitution. Those certified under Rule 38d may conduct hearings and try cases to a jury. Summer interns visit various criminal justice agencies such as the county jail, Arizona Supreme Court, and Tempe PD DUI Investigation. They may also go on 'ride alongs', and observe trials. 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls will be considered. Should have strong interest in criminal law and felony prosecution, and strong research and writing skills. Application Deadline: January 30, 2016.
