Temporary Part-Time Law Clerk DUTIES: Reports to the attorney for the Lakewood Police Department. Will perform legal research pertaining to 4th and 5th Amendment issues, civil rights law, the Colorado Criminal Code, and legislative changes. Will report to the attorney for the Police Department.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must be enrolled as a first or second year law student. Completed the first or second year of law school by the summer and must have taken or be enrolled in a criminal procedure class for the fall semester. Must remember details of court cases, witness information, as well as legal terms and procedures. Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing. Must read and interpret a variety of complex written legal documents, citations, reports, etc. Must interpret and apply laws and established guidelines to a variety of situations. Must make timely and accurate decisions that may have a negative impact on others. Work Schedule: 10 – 15 hr/wk(school year); 15-20 hr/wk(summer) Start Date: May 26, 2015
