Law Clerk The candidate must be Graduate of a college or university with a Bachelor's degree and a minor in paralegal studies OR completion of a two-year program in paralegal studies OR completion of twenty-four semester hours at an American Bar Association accredited law school. Experience as a paralegal or legal secretary will substitute for the required two-year paralegal studies program on a year-for-year basis. Performs work as an assistant to attorneys representing indigent criminal defendants by providing support, legal research and writing, client interviews and other duties as required. Performs work as an assistant to attorneys; and performs other duties as required. Minimal travel may be required. Perform job duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Corrections or with youth in the care, custody, or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice must meet qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 C.F.R.115.17 and 115.317.
