Term Law Clerk The Honorable Judge Robert N. Opel II The candidate will be responsible for legal research and writing of memoranda, orders, opinions. Duties also include preparation for and attendance at hearings, trials, and conferences. Effective interaction with members of the Bar, Clerk's Office staff and Chambers' staff is essential to this position. Observe attorneys in action and to play a significant role in all aspects of the Judge's Chambers. Must be a rising 3L or law school graduate (or be certified as having completed all law school studies and requirements and merely awaiting conferment of degree). Should be in the top one-half of his or her law school graduating class. Must have superior research, writing, proofreading, and communication skills. Proficiency in computer assisted legal research is required and proficiency in Windows, Word, and Word Perfect is preferred. Course work or experience in bankruptcy or commercial law is required. Experience with Westlaw is preferred. Clerkship Term: August 15, 2018 to September 20, 2020. Interview Dates: beginning the week of August 14, 2017. Application Deadline: September 30, 2017.
