Summer Internship Interns will work in the Boards and commissions office.Will review and respond to correspondence. Analyze legal statutes which pertain to boards and commissions. Perform data entry. Update files. Draft appointment letters for the Governor’s signature. Correspond with constituents and appointees as well as assist in all facets of the appointments process as needed. Exhibits a high level of attention to detail. Strong organizational skills require. Professional phone demeanor. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel. The internship gives students an insight into how state government operates, how the individual departments within the Governor's Office operate towards a common goal, and various paths within public service. Ideal for law students and non-law students seeking exposure to the legal community. The time commitment during the academic year 20 hours per week. Schedules will be determined individually between each intern and their office supervisor. An intern’s schedule must be consistent throughout the entire semester. Duration: June 1st to August 31st. Interview Period: March. Internal Review and Placement Period: April. Acceptance Letters Sent: May. Deadline: 28 February 2017.
