Legal Intern Duties: Under the supervision of the General Counsel, the Legal Intern will provide legal support by preparing documents, policies and researching legal issues for the corporation. Research and write up results for projects in areas including but not limited to general corporate law, Indian/ANCSA law, employment law and contract law. Assist with various filings, discovery issues, litigation or mergers & acquisitions as these events may occur. Perform file maintenance, database input, document preparation and imaging duties in accordance with corporation Records Management policies and procedures. Prepare and arrange files for storage and retrieval. Assist in special records management projects as needed. Perform filing, typing, word processing, data processing, and retrieval duties in compliance with laws and policies regarding confidentiality. Operate standard office equipment, a computer terminal and imaging equipment. Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Required Qualifications: Current Law student or recent graduate within the last year. Junior or graduate student in good standing. Pursuing a career in Legal. Minimum 3.0 overall GPA. Must be a Doyon Shareholder. Strong analytical, writing and communications skills. Must be proficient in the Microsoft office software suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Preferred qualifications: Prior experience in law (including legal research and writing) or practical experience in a legal environment (corporate legal department or law firm). Experience using electronic legal research methods.
