Summer Legal Intern Program The candidate will work for 10-12 full-time 10-week. Participating sections include: Financial and Lender Oversight. Interns perform legal research and writing projects, attend meetings and hearings, and perform assignments specific to the offices. Will receive training, attend Supreme Court hearings, meetings of Small Business Committee of the House of Representatives, and social events. As an independent federal agency, the SBA aids, counsels, assists and protects small business interests, to preserve free competitive enterprise and maintain and strengthen the overall economy. Recognizing that small businesses are critical to the nation’s economic health, it helps Americans start, build, and grow businesses. Through a network of field offices and partnerships with public and private organizations, it delivers services to people throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, U. S. Virgin Islands and Guam. Strong writing, legal research and analytic skills, and U.S. citizenship or permission to work in U.S. required. Relevant employment history is preferred. 1ls and 2ls can apply. Duration: By the end of March (but recommended by January or early February for best results, as selections are made on a Rolling Basis).
