District Court Law Clerk The Honorable Judge Krista Martin The candidate will work directly with the District Court Judge performing legal research, drafting legal documents, jury instructions, correspondence, memoranda and other writings as required. Will communicate orally and in writing with pro se litigants, attorneys, county and court personnel, and other members of the public as directed by the judge. Assist the judge in managing cases through the court system as directed. Will have the opportunity to observe court proceedings and learn firsthand how the court system operates.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should be a graduate of an accredited law school. An attorney who has taken and passed the Minnesota Bar Exam is preferred. Must be proficient in identifying and applying laws, regulations, rules of procedure, and rules of court to the subject matter. Should have a high level of proficiency in analyzing facts and be able to write in a concise, direct, well-organized, and descriptive style. Computer literacy is important. Familiarity with Westlaw and MS Word/Windows operating system preferred. Application Deadline: May 7, 2014.
