Counsel Product and Trade Regulations The candidate will provide advice on compliance with legal requirements governing the company’s portfolio of chemical, pesticide, biotechnology, food and drug and/or other products, including new product approvals, confidentiality and data compensation claims, and investigation and voluntary disclosure of potential regulatory deviations. Will provide advice on compliance with current and anticipated trade embargo and sanctions regulations, as well as export licensing requirements, to evaluate impact on company operations and ability to proceed with proposed transactions. Work with in-house customs experts and outside counsel to address customs audits, investigations, and litigations in a manner that protects and advances company interests. Review and comment on trade and product regulatory provisions in transactions documents, including stock and asset purchase and sale agreements, confidentiality agreements, and material transfer agreements. Train functional and business unit personnel with respect to trade and regulatory compliance issues. Develop a thorough understanding of and familiarity with the company's businesses, people, products, markets, facilities, customers, and competitors, in order to identify trends and formulate strategies accordingly. Perform special assignments or projects as determined by Legal Department management.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Juris Doctorate degree; license to practice within the U.S. is required. Must have Admission to the bar of at least one state. Must have 8+ years of legal experience focused on product regulation and/or trade compliance matters. A high level of intelligence combined with strong and effective written and oral communications skills, outstanding analytical abilities, and sound reasoning and judgment is required.
