Staff Attorney, International Program Duties: Develop and implement cases and/or legal advocacy campaigns in domestic and international fora to protect the environment worldwide. Exercise significant program initiative and responsibility as a member of a multi-faceted advocacy team.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Membership in the bar of the U.S. jurisdiction in which the attorney will be located, or willingness to apply for membership within 6 months of employment. 10–15 years of experience and a proven record of accomplishment in international law (ideally international environmental law). Excellent written and oral communication and advocacy skills. A demonstrated commitment to international environmental issues. Experience working in cross-cultural settings. Substantial experience in: 1+ substantive area of international environmental law or policy. International treaty negotiations or the operation of international institutions. Litigation in domestic (U.S. or foreign) or international fora. Working with foreign attorneys or diplomats.
