International Tax - Senior II Associate Candidate will perform complex tax research to formulate tax-planning strategies involving (re)structuring business ventures for firm’s clients, while considering the implications to U.S. and international operations as well as coordinating U.S. tax laws with foreign laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy while maintaining compliance with tax and trade regulations. Will be responsible for supervising assignments for the effective diagnosis, solution, development, and implementation of clients’ tax and business needs. Advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the tax implications of the international operations. Contribute to the overall success of the international tax team by enhancing service delivery; keep team members informed of work status; actively seek assignments and other opportunities to provide additional international tax services; and to be proactive in attempting to find new approaches to traditional procedures. Duties include supervising international tax staff by providing leadership, counseling, performance feedback, and career guidance. Direct complex tax research; formulate tax-planning strategies; and provide clear, concise, and thorough written narratives of the matter at issue, research and analysis performed and conclusions written. Provide high-quality services and work products that exceed clients’ expectations within expected timelines. Build client relationships. Build international tax technical competence and apply such technical competence to reasonably complex situations. Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and maintain the confidential and proprietary nature of clients’ relationships and related work products.
Qualification and Experience
Applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree, JD, LLM in Taxation, and/or Master’s in Taxation from an accredited college/university. Candidate should have a CPA license and 5+ years of relevant international tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry. Experience with an accounting firm, law firm, or corporate tax department of a multinational company is needed. Consulting and compliance experience is needed. General knowledge of corporate tax law and compliance is required. Broad exposure to U.S. income taxation is needed. Prior supervisory experience is required.
