Intellectual Property Paralegal The candidate will conduct and analyze preliminary US and international trademark searches for proposed trademarks; Instruct and liaise with outside IP counsel on the Company’s extensive trademark and patent application prosecutions, and registered trademark and issued patent portfolio maintenance and renewals; assist attorneys in trademark proceedings, including litigation; review of product, marketing and other materials and advise in-house clients regarding IP matters; preparation of cease and desist letters and other enforcement matters; working with different departments in the Company in relation to, intellectual property matters, artist agreements and business licensing related issues or requests; maintaining and docketing key dates and deadlines within the legal department’s docket calendar; assisting internal counsel with due diligence projects for intellectual property and business licensing matters; coordinating with Accounts Payable on creating new vendors within SAP for any law firms and other service providers to the department via Serengeti; assisting internal counsel and the Finance department with audit requests.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 2- year degree from an accredited college or a paralegal certificate or the equivalent; 8+ years of intellectual property paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate environment; experience with intellectual property; proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Power Point; knowledge of Pacer and Serengeti system a plus; ability to strengthen client relationships and maintain confidence in legal department production; be a self starter with the ability to work independently as well as the flexibility to collaborate as a team member; strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
