Intellectual Property - General

Director- Intellectual Property, Licensing The candidate's essential functions: Responsible for program level client engagements and patent licensing activities across all geographies, this will include standing up a vertical-specific licensing program;Identify licensing opportunities consistent with program goals;Initiate, negotiate and consummate license agreements, delivering consistent results and licensing revenue;Coordinate with VP of Licensing on IP enforcement strategy in conjunction with licensing campaigns; Counsel on patent and related IP issues that arise in connection with M&A, commercial licensing and other transactions; Create and advocate new IP valuation techniques based on specific situations; Contribute to building infringement analysis and knowledge-base of future licensees, including what technologies are infringed and in which specific markets;Help to ensure freedom to operate by minimizing exposure to third party IP.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Full qualification as a European or US Patent Attorney; Juris Doctorate degree with membership in at least one state Bar; Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences and/or Engineering discipline; Broad and deep technology and legal expertise across multiple vertical segments; Deep understanding of IP monetization strategies and alternative asset management best practices; Extensive network of senior level industry contacts with the ability to operate at the highest level of executive management;Experience leading, managing and growing an outbound licensing program / team; Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with demonstrated success in closing deals.
