Patent Counsel II Responsibilities : The candidate will be responsible for intellectual property for one or more technologies in the Medtronic Patient Monitoring & Recovery division, that includes developing and implementing offensive IP strategies, administration and evaluation of invention disclosures, patent prosecution, conducting various patent searches, conducting freedom-to-practice evaluations and preparing or obtaining appropriate opinions, cognizant of competitor products and related IP watch, conducting infringement investigations and initial invalidity analyses, perform IP due diligence for mergers/acquisitions, providing support and management on patent litigation, including early due diligence and assessment of issues, and providing timely counsel on intellectual property issues.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements : The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science. JD from an accredited US law school and admission to a state bar required. 3+ years of relevant legal experience. US Patent and Trademark Office registration to practice. Experience in various aspects of patent law practice, including significant experience in patent prosecution, licensing, and litigation. Experience in Engineering or Science.
