Assistant General Counsel - Trademark / IP The candidate will join a team of attorneys supporting the trademark and intellectual property legal practice of a major multinational financial institution. Will report to Associate General Counsel in New York. Provide counseling on all aspects of trademark and copyright law, publicity rights law, and domain name and Internet related issues. Negotiate and draft transactional, licensing and sponsorship agreements, sweepstakes, contests and consent letters. Oversee US and foreign trademark prosecution and oppositions, as well as copyright and related conflict matters. Responsible for IP clearance and review of routine business activities, including advertising, marketing and promotions, presentation decks, web sites and mobile applications.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree with strong intellectual property background. Mid-level, in-house experience is preferred. Must have 5+ years of experience. Bar admission in any state required, Florida Bar preferred. Knowledge of and experience with Thomson IP Docketing or similar database, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel needed. Significant experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders is essential.
