Intellectual Property - Patent General
Min 1 yrs required
Intellectual Property Counsel The candidate will prepare patent applications and prosecute patents globally. Will represent company's interest in patent office procedures around the world. Negotiate contracts representing company interests with third parties. Perform legal and factual research. Act as direct contact for and interact with business clients, outside counsel, and international colleagues. Perform litigation-related activities as needed. Should have a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university. Should be registered to practice before the USPTO. Must have 1+ year of law firm and/or in-house intellectual property experience. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, computer science, and/or a related discipline is preferred. J.D. degree from an accredited law school is desired. Admission to practice in Minnesota or eligible for admission within six months of employment is an asset. Strong academic credentials is a plus. Experience and/or a willingness to develop a high level of competence in intellectual property law ideal.
