Intellectual Property Licensing Professional Responsibilities: Will participate in all phases of intellectual property licensing projects: Analyze competitors’ products through reverse engineering efforts to investigate instances of possible third party patent infringement. Identify and prepare business cases to identify potential licensees. Prepare infringement and validity analysis. Draft and negotiate intellectual property license agreements under the supervision and assistance of senior team members. Maintain a thorough up-to-date knowledge of IP law and related legal fields.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or comparable degree. A J.D. or LL.B. degree in Law from an accredited Law School. Admission to practice law in at least one state in the U.S. Admission to the USPTO is a plus. 3+ years of experience in a law firm or corporation performing patent prosecution or patent counseling. Ability to understand patent claims and be able to create and understand claim charts and infringement studies Some travel may be required.
