Managing Attorney, Insurance Defense The candidate will have the advantage of working in a leadership role, supervising attorneys in our various offices; providing legal representation to our company’s insureds and/or to the Insurance Companies, the team of attorneys will be handling cases from beginning to end; will also take on responsibilities such as making employment decisions, handling performance management, monitoring the department budget, making compensation decisions, handling own small case load and developing employees.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in Ohio; 5+ years of legal experience; prior leadership/management experience; prior insurance defense and auto insurance defense; strong leadership qualities; significant legal experience with a thorough understanding and working knowledge of applicable laws and rules of evidence, civil procedure, trial practice and tort; thorough understanding and working knowledge of medical and other technical information; ability to recognize and understand the legal issues in personal injury and insurance coverage litigation; effectiveness as a team member and independently; demonstrated collaborative skills with claims/clients/customers; strong analytical skills, attention to detail and diary maintenance; excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize; good work ethic with an understanding of all applicable ethical duties; computer proficiency with the ability and willingness to learn new or updated computer software and programs; ability and willingness to learn and follow existing and new processes and procedures; good research skills
